Relaxation of restrictions when entering Thailand
- There is no need to present a vaccination certificate or negative test result when entering Thailand.
- The period of stay for travelers from visa-exempt countries/regions, including Japan, has been extended from 30 to 45 days (until the end of March 2023).
Relaxation of infection control measures in Thailand
- Wearing a mask is recommended in poorly ventilated or crowded places.
- Those infected with COVID-19 who have mild or no symptoms can go out without self-isolation. However, DMHT measures (maintaining distance, wearing a mask, washing hands, and testing (if symptoms appear)) are recommended for five days.
- Elderly people and those at high risk of infection with certain medical conditions are recommended to monitor their health for 10 days (testing with ATK on days 5 and 10).
- Companies and organizations are advised to monitor their employees regularly (and immediately report any significant increase in the number of infected people to the appropriate authorities).
- Vaccination is still recommended.
State of Emergency declared in Thailand
The state of emergency that has been in effect nationwide since March 2020 will be lifted on September 30, 2022. In addition, the COVID-19 Response Headquarters (CCSA) will be dissolved, and from Saturday, October 1, the Ministry of Health will take necessary measures in accordance with the Infectious Diseases Act.
